Pupils step back in time

Staff and pupils at Welton CE Academy travelled back in time to celebrate the school’s centenary.

To mark the 100 years anniversary of the school building children recreated a typical school day in 1915. As well as dressing in traditional 1900’s dress, lessons on the day included arithmetic, dictation and scripture.

Some pupils even travelled to school in a trailer pulled by a tractor.

Mrs Biddell, Headteacher, said: “This is a very special year for our school and we wanted to do something the children and staff will remember.

“On Friday 30th January there will be an exhibition of the children’s work, together with photos, mementos and memorabilia loaned to us from local residents and ex- pupils.

“We invite all members of the local community to join us and help us celebrate.”
